Introduction to the properties of cubic boron nitride (CBN):
Cubic boron nitride (CBN) is synthesized from hexagonal boron nitride and catalyst under high temperature and high pressure. It is another new product after the advent of synthetic diamond. It has high hardness, thermal stability and chemical inertness, as well as excellent infrared transmittance and wide band gap. Its hardness is second only to diamond, but its thermal stability is much higher than that of gold steel. It has great chemical stability to iron-based metal elements. The grinding performance of cubic boron nitride is very excellent, it can not only be competent for the processing of difficult-to-grind materials, improve productivity, but also effectively improve the grinding quality of workpieces. The use of cubic boron nitride was a major contribution to metalworking, leading to a revolutionary change in grinding and the second leap in grinding and cutting technology.
